This update has been a long time coming! Or at least it feels that way to me…I am delighted (and relieved!) to share that our new website is finished! This feels like a huge milestone when I think back to our first version of a site... It was essentially a landing page that I built using a retired macbook from our university days. The laptop, outdated as it was, would sporadically shut down for no apparent reason, making it painfully frustrating to use. No sooner would I get through a few sentences, when the screen would go dark, and remain so for several moments, before the iconic apple sound would chime and the screen would flash on as the computer restarted itself. It seemed that moving the laptop abruptly would trigger one of these little episodes, and so any time I needed to change positions (which was frequently with a baby clinging to me most hours of the day) I would carry it ever so gently, balancing it carefully on my outstretched arms - as though I were presenting it as a gift to royalty. Ridiculous as all of this was, a new computer was not in the cards at the time, so I made do. After the old laptop well and truly gave in, we ‘upgraded’ to a used desktop from a family friend. While it didn't shut itself off, it did like to freeze without warning, and take an obscenely long time to execute any request from me at all. The day I purchased my current laptop, a brand new fully functioning, sleek and shiny little thing - was a day for celebration, indeed! And she has certainly pulled her weight ever since!
We live and farm in the most beautiful place, wild and windswept as it is, and I want to share it with as many people as possible, no matter where they are. I have an amateur passion for photography and strived to capture my day to day out on the farm as best I could. All of the photos on the site are mine (except for the two that are actually of me, one of which was taken by Nick, and the other by the amazing Esha Chiocchio). This was important to me, because there are about a gazillion places to easily source photos online these days, but truth and transparency are non-negotiable.
So, without further adieu I am so delighted to welcome you to this new little corner of the internet where all things Brass Bell Farm shall live.
